National soccer side Harambee Stars players will have an opportunity to face former Chelsea teen sensation and current Crystal Palace striker Will Donkin when they play Taipei in the impending Intercontinental Cup Tournament slated for Friday, June 1 and June 10 in Mumbai India.
Donkin, who previously featured for the premier league giants' under-15 side before switching to Palace in 2017 was a surprise inclusion in the Asian nation's 23-man team announced on Monday by head coach Gary White.
Harambee Stars was a late inclusion in the four-nation tournament which will also feature India, Taipei and New Zealand. Stars got the opportunity after South Africa, which had earlier on expressed interest in participating pulled out.
Stars will be hoping to stage good results which could see them rise further in the FIFA rankings.
Although he is yet to announce his provisional 23-man squad for the 10-day bonanza, newly- appointed Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne is expected to announce a stronger side which could feature a number of foreign players who are currently on a season-long break.
Stars will kick off their campaign against New Zealand on June, 2 at the Mumbai Football Arena according to fixtures released by FIFA, before squaring it with Taipei two days later.
