Former Chief Kadhi sheikh Ahmed Kassim has urged Muslims across the country to respect his successor Sheikh Ahmed Muhdhar.
His plea came following a section of the Muslim community criticizing the announcement that Thursday would be a public holiday, insisting that the differences among Muslims should come to an end.
The former Chief Kadhi told those who criticized the decision by the decision to apologise to him, saying that even in Muslim vast majority nations the work is daunting and not that easy as many people believe.
His sentiments were echoed by national chairman of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslim (SUPKEM) Abdulghafur Elbasaidy.
