Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has attacked Interior CS FredMatiang'i over the deportation of lawyer Miguna Miguna.
Speaking during an interview on The Elephant, Mutunga said thatbhe was dspleased with how the events transpired.
He compared the incident the days he was detained during the 80's.
"What happened to David Ndii, Miguna and people like Jimmy Wanjigi losing theirpassports has actually traumatized me because this is what happened in the 70s and 80s.People would disappear or the police will come and pick you and hold you incommunicadoand they would do it in the presence of your wife and children .This idea that Miguna’s ID is fake, is nauseating and painful. You do not lose yournationality of birth. These people are not reading the Constitution," he said.
Mutunga further stated that he was offended by government dissobedience of court orders regarding the saga.
"A disobeyed court order is a subversion of the Constitution and the rule of law and theJudiciary cannot give the impression that it is impotent to enforce its orders and they haveto go all the way and lock up fellows."Matiangi'i is a face from the past and when I look at him I wonder ‘who advises this guy?" he added.
Miguna is currently in Canada after he was denied entry into Kenya.
