Kilifi governor hopeful Kazungu Kambi has dismissed claims that he is corrupt and not fit for leadership.
Kambi said the propaganda being peddled by his opponents is malicious and meant to discredit his gubernatorial bid, adding that he has never engaged in any corrupt deals.“I am the cleanest candidate and whoever thinks that I am corrupt should prove his or her claims,” said Kambi, as quoted by People Daily.Kambi said if elected, he will ruthlessly deal with corruption which he claimed is thriving in the incumbent, Governor Amason Kingi’s administration.“I wonder when some people peddle corruption claims against me yet they are the same people who are misappropriating public funds,” he added.Kambi appealed to residents to vet aspirants vying for different seats before voting for them.He urged residents to support his bid, saying his development impact will be felt within his first 100 days in office.Kambi is seeking to unseat Governor Kingi of ODM.Others in the race include KIlifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro (Jubilee) and Independent candidate James Kahindi.
