Former Labour CS Kazungu Kambi has said he will change the lives of Kilifi residents if they give him the mandate to become their next governor. The governor aspirant, who launched his election bid said he will make the county food secure once he ascends to power. The Kadu Asili aspirant, who spoke at Mariakani Secondary School, said hunger and education are among the problems he will address if he unseats Governor Amason Kingi, a close ally of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho. The aspirant also pledged to pay fees for needy students using county funds just like Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has done under his leadership.“Education is the surest weapon to eradicate poverty. There is no development that can be achieved if our children remain illiterate,” said Kambi as quoted by The Star. Kambi said Mvurya has done a lot for his people when it comes to education, adding that Kilifi should borrow a leaf from the Governor.“If Mvurya can do it, why can’t we do it in Kilifi?” asked Kambi.“Your work will be to give birth. Mine will be to educate your children,” said Kambi.
