Former Manyatta OCS, Chief Inspector Hassan Osman and Constable John Nkonge are mentioned in the murder of a farmer at Ngaragatari village eight years ago.

Inspector Osman is blamed for leading heavily armed policemen to the deceased's house in Embu who hurled a teargas canister at his house killing him instantly.

It is alleged that one man by name Mr David Kariuki had acquired a piece of land which apparently the deceased had acquired as well, and when Kariuki tried to fence it on September 25, 2008 the deceased chased him with a machete.

This prompted him to report the matter to the police who decided to ambush him and when he refused they tried to break into his house.

He tried attacking them, injuring one officer with a machete and a reinforcement of six officers accompanying osman came, after which they threw a teargas into the house, hitting the deceased on the head killing him instantly.
