According to reports in the Tottenham Camp, The board turned down Victor Wanyama's salary raise demand who is currently on a deal with the White Hart Lane side until June 2021 and earning a £70k weekly wage.
With the summer transfer window looming, Wanyama may look for a way out of Spurs.
He has been sidelined by Mauricio Pochettino, who prefers using Eric Dier in the heart of midfield and leaving Wanyama on the bench.
The Kenyan Captain has made 13 appearances for Spurs this season, coming off the bench nine times which is a worrying stat for a professional footballer.
Reports claim that Liverpool was eyeing a lucrative deal to land the midfielder, even though there are questions over whether he will be used at Anfield considering the Klopp has signed Naby Keita, who is set to arrive in the summer.
The team also has the services of Jordan Henderson, who operates in the same midfield position as Wanyama.
