 On Wednesday, Former Isiolo Governor Godana Doyo was charged with abuse of office in a case filed by the anti-graft agency.

The court was given information that during his term, Doyo gave out letters of appointment to several senior officers without seekeing approval from the County Public Board.

The former governor failed to appear in court and opted not to sent a lawyer to represent him.

According to the case filed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) he faces eight counts of abuse of office.

The counts include the appointments of Adan Santura,  Ben Omondi, Lucy Mworia and  Kinoti Kithinji back in 2014.

According to a ruling by Isiolo Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai, Doyo is to be issued with a summons to appear before the courton September 27 when the case will be mentioned.
