Former Tharaka-Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa has denied reports of his defection to the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Ragwa accused his rivals of spreading the rumor that he was now campaigning for the Opposition candidate Raila Odinga after failing to defend his seat in the August 8 elections.

"I am telling my supporters to ignore lies being spread by my Jubilee rivals that I had a meeting with Raila at the Orange House. My support for President Uhuru Kenyatta remains unwavering," he said speaking in Chogoria town.

Ragwa told JP leaders in the area to stop using his name to seek favors from the party's top leadership, adding they should concentrate on serving the electorate.

"Let the elected politicians concentrate on their mandate of serving the people and stop cheap propaganda," the former governor added.

Ragwa, who vied on Narc Kenya party ticket, was dislodged by Jubilee's Muthomi Njuki in the poll conducted on August 8, 2017.
