Former Governor Nathif Jama mourns death of first Garissan to be appointed clerk to ADC in 1962

Former Garissa County Boss Nathif Jama Adam has mourned the death of Ahmed Sheikh Muhumed.

Sheikh Muhumed passed on after several years of illness.

Jama noted that the deceased was the eldest son of Sultan Sheikh Muhumed Hassan Warfa of the Awlyahan community of Garissa.

The former County Boss noted that Ahmed was the first Garissan to be appointed a clerk to the African District Council (ADC) of Garissa in 1962.

“Ahmed was the first Garissan to be appointed a clerk to the African District Council (ADC) of Garissa in 1962. The ADC later became the Garissa County Council,” Noted Jama.

He said that Ahmed was among those were recognized and honoured by his County Government in 2013.

“Ahmed was among many Garissans who were recognized and honoured by my County Government in 2013 during the Kenya @50 celebrations,” He said.

“May Allah grant him Jannah and our condolences to his family,” he noted.
