Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, Mutura requested the head of state to personally see to it that the probe that has since been initiated in line with the saga bears fruits that will help the nation eradicate such in the future.

He noted that a continuation of the same is likely to stain the President's legacy, once he steps out of power in 2022, noting that Kenyans are concluding that he has been unable to keep earlier vows to suppress the menace.

''Tunampenda na tunamlilia rais wetu kwani mambo tunayoyaona yanadidimiza nyoyo zetu na wakenya wanapoteza imani kwa uongozi wake (we love the President but the ongoing happenings are saddening Kenyans who are now giving up),'' said the ex-lawmaker.

He hoped that the introduction of new investigative heads will be beneficial in the fight, referring to new Director of Public Prosecution  (DPP) Noordin Haji and his counterpart from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti, saying that the President has demonstrated goodwill towards making Kenya a corruption-free zone.

''Namshukuru sana kwa kukumbatia sheria zetu na kuleta wapelelezi wapya na naona sasa ni kama kazi itafanyika (it is a good thing that he has embraced our anti-corruption laws and recruited new investigators and I am confident that changes will now be evident),'' added Mutura.
