Former Jubilee Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo feels vindicated following President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga's recent meeting where the two promised to work together.
According to Gwendo who went against the grain and supported Jubilee especially in a region where Raila enjoys massive political following, her troubles are now over flatter the two leaders met.
"Kwa wale walikazana na kunitukana traitor, kiang'owa...mniambie ni lini mtaita press conference,"she posted on her Facebook page.
This translates to, for those who labeled me a traitor and I don't know what..tell me when you will call for a press conference.
Gwendo was the face of Jubilee in the Nyanza region and it earned her many enemies as she was accused of betraying the locals.
The 'traitor' tag came to haunt her as she lost the Kisumu East parliamentary contest on a Jubilee party ticket.
However, with the new Uhuru-Raila unexpected newfound political dalliance, the former lawmaker can finally shed off the traitor tag and reinvent her political career.
Going into 2022 political contest, Gwendo can be a strong candidate for any seat in Kisumu.
