Uasin Gishu woman representative aspirant, Gladys Boss Shollei, has been given the green light by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest amid integrity issues.
Shollei, who is being accused of abuse of office, was cleared by IEBC, Tuesday, after submitting her nomination papers to IEBC returning officer, Winston Nyonje.
The Jubilee candidate has however denied the charges.
She is also among 20 politicians whom an NGO wants they be blacklisted from contesting over integrity issues.
Addressing the press in Eldoret after his clearance, Shollei said she was innocent.
“I would not have made the decision if I knew the law prohibits me from vying,” Shollei said.
The former judiciary chief registrar expressed confidence that she will win the seat on August 8.
“I am excited that I have been cleared and that the truth has prevailed.”
