Musila who dumped Wiper Party and unsuccessfully contested for the Kitui gubernatorial seat in last year’s polls says it is time for Kenyans to put aside their political differences and move forward.

Speaking to journalists in Kitui on Monday, Musila said the country has been sharply divided by last year’s presidential election, adding that national healing is what every politician should be championing for.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta did a noble thing by reaching out to Raila Odinga and agreeing   to dialogue on critical issues facing the country,” Musila said.

The former Wiper Party chairman asked politicians to welcome the truce between the two leaders instead of politicizing it.

He said Uhuru-Raila meeting was for the interest of Kenyans and not individual politicians.

“Political brokers must keep off and allow Uhuru and Raila to unite the country which is ethnically divided,” he added.

Musila asked stakeholders including the church and civil society rights groups to support President Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister  as they seek to unite the country.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s surprise meeting with Raila last week continues to draw reactions with politicians expressing mixed feelings.
