Days after being sacked from his post, former Kisumu County Chief of Staff, Mr. Patrick Ouya has linked his removal from office to what he termed as power games.

Mr. Ouya was sacked early last week and replaced by University lecturer Joseph Ouno Omondi after he allegedly threatened to shoot Kisumu governor Professor Peter Anyang Nyong’o and his deputy Dr Mathews Owili.

But Ouya now says there were forces whose main intention was creating a wedge between him and Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.

“I knew I was going to lose the war when my boss lost trust in me and failed to protect me,” Mr. Ouya was quoted by the Nation.

He dismissed claims that he threatened to shoot the governor and his deputy, linking the claims to an argument he had with some of the governor’s close allies.

“They came into my office and accused me of planning to impeach the governor and we had bitter exchange of words before I chased them out of office. Minutes later, I was shocked to see security officers in my office with accusation that I wanted to shoot the governor. But they did not find me with any fire arm after a search in my office,” he said.

Police confirmed that no firearm was found in his office. He was grilled and later released.
