A Former MP in Kisii County has denied frustrating the current Bonchari MP John Oyioka in his work.
John Opore, former Bonchari MP said he has not interfered in any way with Oyioka's work as the area MP.
According to Opore, he was only going around the constituency to see the projects he had initiated.
"There are projects that I had initiated ahead of the August 8 polls and I have a right to visit the sites at will and see how the contractors were fairing on with the projects," he said.
Mr Opore said he respected the court ruling that upheld the victory of the current MP last week even as he plans to move to the court of appeal.
"Last week we had a court ruling which confirmed that Bonchari has an MP. As much as I disagree with the court ruling, I will not change it. I have plans to challenge the ruling at a higher court," said Opore.
He asked his supporters to embrace peace and give Mr Oyioka humble time to deliver.
"My supporters should remain calm and wait for the next move. For now, I am appealing to my supporters to stop engaging supporters from the rival side in exchanges," said Opore.
He was speaking at Suneka on Sunday.
