A group of former Members of Parliaments has called for the de-registration of the National Super Alliance.The individuals have petitioned the registrar of political parties to investigate the coalition with the aim of de-registering it.
The group chaired by immediate former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has accused NASA of allegedly engaging in subversive activities and violating the constitutional provisions governing political parties.
“We by this petition humbly beseech yourself to invoke your powers under section 34 (a) and (g) and 21 (a), (d), (f) of the Political Parties Act and commence investigations and disciplinary proceedings that may lead to the process of de-registration of the NASA coalition,” read a statement from the group.Last week, NASA leader Raila Odinga announced that the coalition will be transformed into a resistance movement.The announcement has not augered well among the Jubilee side.
The ruling party has accused NASA of planning to use unconstitutional means to gain power.
