Martin Imbalambla has rejoined Vihiga United barely two months after he was suspended from the club on disciplinary grounds. The Stalwart has been out of the newly promoted KPL side for 8 weeks now after he fell out with the teams management and the technical bench over uncouth behaviour.
Imbalambala had disappeared from the Vihiga based club during the last fixture of the club in the National Super League seemingly bowed by financial troubles the club was undergoing during a change of guard at Vihiga county government from Moses Akaranga to Wibur Ottichillo as county Governor.
In an interview with Citizen TV, the former AFC Leopards Midfielder said that he is motivated to work with his teammates after Vihiga United attained the new status.“I will work extra hard to make sure we maintain our status in the KPL,” Imbalambala said.Imbalambala who seem to have the support of the coach Edward Manoah, who inked a new deal with the club last week, will have his work burden cut out.“It’s not a sympathy we are doing but he is really a good player. We are now in top flight league and buying a new player is tricky. We have recalled him as he is a senior player. He strikes a good bond with his colleagues and he will be invaluable to the team,” Coach Manoah said.
Vihiga United will on February 3 debut against fellow United, Mathare United at the Bukhungu stadium in the first KPL fixture.
