Orengo who has been in politics for a while now, is remembered for playing a pivotal role towards achievement of multiparty democracy in the country in early 1990s.

On Tuesday, Omogeni backed his legal colleague saying he has showed exemplary leadership and humility throughout his political life.

“Honestly, when you ask about that question, I find it easy because Orengo is always there. He has been one of the leaders who have seen the country transit from one party state to a multiparty democracy,” he said.

“He has sacrificed a lot and even fought several battles to salvage the poor from bad governance and that is the kind of leader Raila has been. To me, I think Orengo is a perfect replacement should Raila retire,” he said.

The former LSK boss who is planning to contest for the Nyamira Senatorial seat hailed Orengo’s immense experience on matters governance and his contribution in Parliament since he was elected.

“He is pretty experienced, national and patriotic. I think these are the kind of leaders Kenyans need. He qualifies to take over from Raila in future because they belong in the same league,” he said.
