Former Law Society of Kenya boss Erick Mutua has claimed that his life is in danger.
Mutua said this after his convoy was allegedly attacked by supporters said to be of his political opponent at Maai in Mwingi East sub-county on Friday night.
Mutua who is eyeing the Mwingi Central parliamentary seat, recorded a statement at the Mwingi police station.
According to kbctv.co.ke, he accused the police of being compromised by his opponent, Gideon Mulyungi, a former Permanent Secretary.
Kbctv.co.ke added that Mulyungi also showed up at the same police station moments after Mutua had left to record a similar statement claiming that his supporters had been attacked by Mutua’s supporters.
The seat is currently held by Joe Mutambu who recently defected to Jubilee Party from Wiper.
