Former Machakos gubernatorial candidate Titus Ndunda has been charged with defilement.
Ndunda was on Monday charged with defiling a 17-year-old girl.
He was arrested at his rural home in Ikombe, Yatta Sub County on Sunday and locked up at Masii Police Station where he spent the night.
According to the prosecution, Ndundu committed the offense on May 14, 2018, at an undisclosed location in Nairobi.
However, appearing before resident Magistrate Irene Kabuya, Ndundu denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 bond and surety of the same amount.
The defense lawyer asked to be provided with photos of the minor and any other details that will help build his defense.
