Former Minister for Agriculture Kipruto arap Kirwa has weighed in on why Former President Daniel Arap Moi snubbed Deputy President William Ruto when he landed at Kabarak.
According to Mr Kirwa, Ruto's humiliation was occasioned by his vilification of Gideon Moi and this did not sit well with the former president.
He said that probably Former President Moi took offence to the vilification of his son and his unannounced visit did not help matters.
''He has called Gideon names, almost demeaning Gideon as a person and yet they are age-mates. Imagine you abusing my son from morning to 3 o'clock and then at five o'clock you want to see me. How will I take it? So we have to be sensitive to the feelings of president Moi, President Moi is an old person who needs medical attention. And being a private citizen, you don't just show up on somebody's gate and say that 'I am here,'' because they say he landed unannounced Arap Kirwa said.
The former Minister for Agriculture was speaking Friday morning on a mainstream television panel discussion.
The 'snub' has elicited a bewildering array of reactions by Kenyans on social media.
This comes weeks after veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga paid Daniel arap Moi a visit at his Kabarak home.
