An activist and former MP aspirant wants Deputy President William Ruto to withdraw a case he filed against him after the DP on Wednesday said he had forgiven all those who had wronged him.
Boniface Mwangi said in the spirit of promoting cohesion in the country, the DP needs to withdraw the case without much hesitation.
Ruto on Wednesday after President Uhuru Kenyatta's State of the Nation address said he had forgiven all people who had wronged him as he asked Kenyans who he may have wronged in anyway to forgive him as well.
The DP said: "In keeping with HE's statement, l William Samoei Ruro unreservedly apologise to anyone offended or hurt in anyway by what I have said or done at any time. Find it in your heart to forgive me. I have forgiven all those who wronged me. Let's embark on building the bridges of friendship and unity."
Ruto on October 7, 2016 sued Mwangi for defamation after he accused the rights activist of posting damaging messages against him on social media.
But in response to the DP's message on Wednesday Mwangi said: "You sued me Deputy President William Ruto. Withdraw the case and l shall withdraw my counter claim. I have forgiven you for calling me names."
Ruto is yet to respond to Mwangi's demand.
