Former Molo MP John Njenga Mungai has urged Jubilee and the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders to refrain from public spats and instead embark on dialogue to end political impasse in the country.
Addressing residents of Tayari in Molo sub-county, the former legislator called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA principals to bury the hatchet, dialogue and unite the country.
He said the latest swearing in of Raila Odinga as the people’s presidents heightened political temperatures in the country and there is need for leaders to sit down and talk.
The veteran politician faulted the government over the recent media shut down. He said the media has a responsibility to shape the society.
"Gagging the media was an act of cowardice," he said.
He added: "We must embrace dialogue and guide our tongues on the kind of sentiments that we make. People must come together, reason or perish like fools as it happened during the 2007/08 tribal wars."
