Nyambati has been subjected to criticism from a section of Nyamira County residents who questioned his track record during his tenure as Kitutu Masaba MP between the years 2007- 2013.

But the veteran politician on Sunday during an interview with the reporter in Kisii town defended his track record labeling his critics as ‘liars of progress.'

“I picked Kitutu Masaba when it was ailing from poor leadership and clanism and managed to ingrate our people. I did many roads and supported young people in various institutions of higher learning,” Nyambati said.

“My critics are liars of progress because they reckon my force in the ground. During my tenure, many health centers and schools were opened across the constituency and I believe I can take Nyamira to the next level in development if I get the opportunity,” he added.

He also expressed his optimism that Jubilee party will clinch Presidency in 2017 elections and challenged residents to join the team to avoid being left out of government.

“The government has done well to Gusii community and it’s my wish that we join it to avoid being left out in 2017. I am sure that Jubilee will carry the day,” he added.

Mr Nyambati is expected to tussle with incumbent Governor John Nyagarama and businessman Charles Mochama.
