Former Kitutu Masaba member of Parliament Mwacha Okioma has decamped to the Moses Wetangula led Ford Kenya party.
Okioma said Sunday he made the decision after his former party, Ford People, was dissolved to join the recently launched Jubilee Party.
Ford People was a former Jubilee coalition partner.
He will now run on the Ford-K ticket as he seeks the Nyamira governorship seat in the 2017 elections.
Party leader and Bungoma Senator Wetangula who was accompanied by his Kakamega counterpart, Bonny Khalwale and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalawa endorsed Okioma's candidature.
Okioma joins the growing list of aspirants both from the Cord coalition and Jubilee Party seeking to unseat the incumbent, Governor John Nyagarama.
In his address, Okioma maintained that he is the best bet for the county top seat who will address challenges facing Nyamirans especially on the disparities in the payment of tea bonuses.
