A former lawmaker from Ukambani region has slammed NASA leader Raila Odinga over his continued dismissal of the October 26 repeat polls.Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu said Odinga had resorted to holding the country at ransom by bolting out of the repeat elections and later dismissing the polls as a sham, a move he said will negatively affect the country's economic progress."Mr Odinga must stop holding the country at ransom. He abandoned the repeat elections after getting reprieve from the Supreme Court. Now he has refused to acknowledge the outcome of the same polls. He must let the country move on,” said Mutambu.Odinga withdrew from the October 26 polls, terming the repeat presidential elections as an opinion poll for Jubilee. The NASA leader on Friday said they are warming up for an election which he said will be held after 90 days after all their grievances within and without the commission are addressed. Mutambu further pointed an accusing finger at Odinga, saying he opposed his bill that sought to have a rotational presidency which he says would have reduced the cutthroat competition associated with the seat.We wouldn't be here today had that bill sailed through. Sadly Mr Odinga was the first to oppose it. However, I still believe that we need to have an honest discussion on this issue of a rotational presidency,” said Mutambu.
