A former lawmaker has come under fire to answer claims of spreading hate speech.
Former Mt Elgon MP Fred Kapondi has denied the allegtions that he threatened to recruit youths to cause violence.
According to Kapondi, he was quoted out of context.
In a video that has been doing the rounds on social media, Kapondi is heard saying, "Kama ni kupanga vijana, hakuna mtu anajua kupanga kushinda mimi," (If it means organising youths, no one can match me).
The development come at a time the National Cohesion and reconciliation Commission has warned politicians against hate speech in the run up to the August polls.
