After failing to defend his Kaloleni MP seat during August 8 elections, Gunga Mwinga has now turned his attention to the Kilifi County Assembly Speaker position.
The 41-year old who was seeking re-election on a Devolution Party of Kenya ticket lost to ODM's Paul Katana.
Mwinga who was speaking to one of the local dailies said that he is the right man for the job as he has a lot of experience having been in Parliament for one term.
"I have what it takes because I have been in the National Assembly for the past five years and have learned a lot from Speaker Justin Muturi," he said.
In an assembly where ODM enjoys the numbers, a candidate who will be sponsored by the party is most likely going to win the position which is currently held by outgoing Speaker Jimmy Kahindi who is also keen to defend his position.
Others in the race include Geoffrey Kazole, Mwahunga Mtana and Sanga Barawa.
