Former Fafi Member of Parliament Aden Sugow Ahmed has launched his bid to contest for the senatorial seat in Garissa County in the 2017 elections.
Sources reveal that Sugow took this decision after the Abudwak community elders had refused to endorse him for the post and instead gave it to the current Garissa County Senator Yussuf Haji.
Sugow the addressed the public had urged the residents to support and vote for him during elections.
"I sold my manifesto to them and urged them to vote for me, not for who I am, but for what I stand for and can do," said Sugow.
He further urged the residents to register as voters as the only weapon they can use to elect certain candidate is the voter card.
"Let everyone register as a voter in the ongoing exercise. Know that your voter's card is your weapon to use during elections," added Sugow.
He also told the residents to vote peacefully and live happily with one another as a society.
"I finally urge residents of Garissa County to exercise their constitutional right to vote peacefully and happily co-exist with those they perceive as opponents in the form of ethnic rivalry, only then can we move forward as a society," said Aden Sugow.
