Former Eldoret South MP Peris Simam has been released from jail after she paid a Sh6.2 million fine.
Ms Simam, her husband Enoch Simam, and another four had earlier been convicted by Eldoret Chief Magistrate Margaret Wanjiku over corruption charges on October 7 this year.
She was found guilty of corruption and abuse of office in connection with the misuse of Sh4.5 million public money during her tenure as MP.
Mr Simam will however behind bars until he pays a similar fine before he is released.
