Former MP Stephen Tarus has faulted electoral laws amendments being fronted by the Jubilee party ahead of the October 26 repeat Presidential election.

The former Emgwen MP claims the amendments if passed by the Parliament, will make the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) a tool for the Jubilee party.Speaking in Eldoret, Tuesday, Tarus who is allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA) further dismissed arguments by Jubilee that the amendments are in line with recommendations by the Supreme Court when it nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta's August 8 poll win."The Jubilee guys are writing Njoki (Lady Justice) laws not the majority decision by the Supreme Court," said Tarus. The former Assistant minister who also once served as Kenyan Ambassador to Australia insisted that the October 26 repeat poll will not be free and fair if the current electoral laws are amended."What they (Jubilee MPs) are trying to do is distort ground for a free and fair election and make sure there is only one presidential candidate," noted the former MP."With the new laws, October 26 election will be a Jubilee party affair," he added.
