Speaking on Radio Citizen's 'Debe La Citizen' Sunday, the leader noted that the rift between the alliance chief Raila Odinga and the remaining trio of Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka can only widen.

Responding to fellow panelist and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui who said that the alliance still stands, Mutambu also rubbished any possibilities of the coalition having any effect in the political arena going forward, predicting its complete disintegration in the near future.

"Hakuna kitu kama NASA, na itakua vigumu kuona viongozi wa huo muungano wakirudi pamoja tena (NASA is no longer there and the chances of the alliance leaders reuniting is close to zero)," he said.

He said that the division in the alliance was kicked off by the March 9 truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta which was ironically meant to unite the nation, following Odinga's decision to exclude the trio in the meeting.

According to the ex-legislator, the alliance co-principals are better off separated, as the alliance has proved unsuitable for them.

"Kuna walio na machungu baada ya kuachwa kwa mataa wakati wa handshake na itabidi waachane na mambo ya NASA kabisa (there are people who are bitter after being excluded in the handshake and it will be important for the leaders to go for other options)," he added.
