Former Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has lashed out at acting education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi’ for the transfer of teachers across the country.
According to the former legislator, Matiang’i should gazette all the names of the affected principals and the reasons behind their transfers.
As the country tries to come to terms with the mass transfer of secondary school principals to different schools across the country still some political leaders are reigniting the widely opposed exercise fresh in the minds of Kenyans
Addressing media in Machakos Mwangangi said some of the education stakeholders especial in those in authority have misused the opportunity to mistreat their juniors.
“The transfers have taken a new dimension and some heads of education have taken this chance to victimize and promote friends on no merit and this could be the hanging rope to the system,” said Mwangangi.
According to Mwangangi, the system has been used again by other to mint money from teachers who are in dire need of promotion on so as to maybe join cartels in milking school coffers dry
“Teachers with disabilities or medical problems have also been affected and Matiang’i should intervene on humanitarian grounds and ensure any who are affected receives justice” he added.
However, the government has remained adamant that it won’t relent and whether the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), teachers, parents, and students will like it or not, the exercise will continue. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Machakos that you want Hivisasa to cover?
