Speaking in Mwingi on Friday, former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu said it's despicable the two leaders have both shown interests of vying for the presidency in 2022 yet they can't see eye to eye.

"We have given the self-proclaimed kingpins an ultimatum to devolve the handshake and bury the hatchet. How can they be interested in the top seat when their people are divided? It's a shame," Mutambu said.

Mutambu said all leaders from the Ukambani region who have bad blood amongst themselves should handshake for the community's sake.

"Kalonzo, shake hands with Mutua. Muthama, shake hands with Mutua. Mutambu, shake hands with Kisoi and many others you consider your political nemesis," Mutambu said.

He said Kalonzo and other leaders should sit and talk about not only uniting the community but also the direction the community will take.

"The business of two people purporting to be the anointed, holier than though to lead the community should be left behind. Involve the church so that we know where we stand, is it in the opposition or in government," Mutambu said.
