[Photo: The Star]The widow of former Juja MP George Thuo is seeking to stop a corruption case against her.Judy Wamaitha Thuo is charged alongside four others in an alleged Sh28.5 million Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) graft case.The widow, Ngatia Ndung'u alongside former KPC employees Charles Tanui (MD) chief engineer, Josephat Sirma, and chief technical manager, Elias Karumi, are accused of awarding the tender for the installation of autotransformers irregularly to Redline Company Ltd where Judy and Ngatia are directors.They are similarly facing six counts of abuse of office and failure to comply with procurement regulations in the award of the tender.In the petition, filed under certificate of urgency, Judy together with Ngatia argue that during the investigations EACC did not have commissioners and therefore the case is invalid.They want the court to issue an order discontinuing the prosecution of the applicants.“The applicants are business people whose reputation and standing has been grossly affected by the said charges," claim the petitioners.
