A new supermarket has been opened in Kisumu’s Kondele Estate.The supermarket, Lemigo Dala is situated at the Kodiero Business Centre, along the Kondele-Kibos road.The supermarket is owned by seven directors and thirteen employees, all of whom are former employees of Nakumatt supermarket that recently closed shop in Kisumu due to financial constraints.The supermarket’s manager Benson Olang’ said they decided to come together and start the venture after the Nakumatt experience.The launch of the new supermarket was witnessed by among others Kisumu County Deputy Governor Mathews Owili, Kisumu County Chief Executive Member for Trade Alice Moraa and Kondele MCA Joachim OketchOwili sent Kisumu Governor Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o’s message of goodwill to the proprietors of the supermarket. Nyong’o is recovering in the US after undergoing a hipbone surgery.“He sent me to congratulate you for starting and walking a path that very few people dare take. He said he will visit you soon after coming back in the country,” said the Deputy Governor.Owili promised that Lemigo will now become the supermarket of his choice.
