Former Nakuru Town MP Mark Mwithaga is dead.
The veteran politican died on Monday evening at the Valley Hospital in Nakuru town while undergoing treatment for an old-age related illness.
"I wish to confirm that my father passed on this evening at around 8.50 pm while receiving treatment at the Valley Hospital," Mwithaga Madaraka, his son, told the Nation.
The late Mwithaga served as Nakuru Town MP between 1966-1979.
The Nakuru politician was a great confidant of populist politician the late Josiah Mwangi Kariuki and became the Vice Chairman of the JM Kariuki assassination probe team in the 1970s.
