Former Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga has claimed that he was chased out of the NASA alliance.

Akaranga who has since decamped to the rival Jubilee Party in retaliation claims that he was harassed and forced to pay fines for including the alliance logo on his campaign materials as he was seeking to defend his seat on the PPK Party.

''I was unwanted in the NASA quarters. They took me to court and I was ordered to pay a 500,000 Shilling fine and remove their symbols from my campaign materials,'' Akaranga told his supporters in Elwunza village in Vihiga county Friday as is quoted by the Standard.

He also drummed up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid urging his  supporters to support the UhuRuto duo in the approaching polls.

He maintained that the opposition is empty-handed and has nothing to offer them.

''I ask all my supporters to follow me to our new home where we are comfortable and recognised,'' said Akaranga who lost to ODM's Wilbur Otichilo in the race.
