Former Nyakach MP Ochieng Daima has urged area residents to vote out Aduma Owuor in the 2017 elections.
Daima who served as the area MP between 2002 to 2007 is eying the position in 2017 in what he said is a move to restore leadership and development which has been missing during Aduma's tenure.
Speaking on Saturday, Daima said Aduma's reign has seen the gains by the area leadership reduced to ashes following Aduma's lack of consultative leadership.
"All the development projects I left incomplete in 2007 have all stalled. The social centers, schools and roads which I had started have since been abandoned while some may be condemned for staying longer before completion," said Daima.
He added; "I have never seen the MP speak in the Parliament, leave alone proposing a bill. Without talking it means you are not representing the interest of your people as their representative in the parliament."
According to Daima , there needs to be a change in leadership to restore Nyakach's glory.
"My priority in 2017 will be ensuring one university in Nyakach to absorb the many Form Four graduates missing out on university spaces across the country as well as ensuring quality bursary to many children whose families cannot afford secondary school fees," he added.
With no other candidate declaring interest in the position, Daima has expressed confidence in clinching the position. In his previous public addresses, Aduma has also expressed confidence in retaining the seat, but confirmed that he is ready to hand over power if Nyakach voters decide to vote him out.
