After losing his seat during the August 8 polls, former Ndhiwa MP Agostino Neto can now breathe a sigh of relief after landing a job in President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
In Uhuru's latest appointments, Neto who served Ndhiwa constituency since the death of his predecessor Orwa Ojode to 2017, has been appointed a board member of National Environment Management Authority ( NEMA).
Neto was NASA leader Raila Odinga's 'handpicked' ODM nominee during the September 2012 by-election which made him the youngest MP at the time. He convincingly defended his seat in 2013 but after a fallout with his party in the run to the 2017 election amid Jubilee Party links, his fate was sealed as he lost to Martin Peters Owino.
Neto's appointment to Uhuru's government follows that of former Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura as Chief Administrative Secretary and his Karachuonyo counterpart James Rege who was appointed Kenya Rural Electrification Authority Board Chairman.
Former Alego- Usonga MP Edwin Yinda was also appointed ICT Authority Board Chairman.
