Former ODM nominated MP Sophia Noor Abdi has asked her Ijara constituents to entrust her with the constituency's legislative position in the August polls. Speaking in Masalani town during the official launch of her political campaigns for the seat, Sophia vowed that she would perfectly do her part as a the next MP not to disappoint the electorate if they vote her in.
While drumming support for herself, the female aspirant said her leadership skills had been tested and proven since she has held more bigger offices before.While poking holes into the present leadership, Noor lamented that the constituency had lagged behind in terms of development due to poor representation by the incumbent, who she said had done little in the last four years in office.Sophia Abdi, who has contested for the legislative seat in two consecutive election seasons and lost said time had dawned for the residents to consider her candidature and grant her the mandate to oversee regional developments in the constituency for the next five years.“Mine is to plead for your votes with a firm promise to offer you true leadership. My regime will be a very consultative with an open-door policy where we shall consult with each other and agree on what projects to prioritize," she told the gathering.
