Former Tigania East Member of Parliament Mpuru Aburi has thrown his weight behind Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambition.
In a phone interview on Emoo FM Friday, Aburi who was elected on an Orange Democratic Party (ODM) in 2013 before decamping to Jubilee, ahead of the 2022 polls, termed Ruto as an experienced leader and therefore the best choice for the top seat.
"Ruto is the best option for 2022. He has demonstrated ability to lead throughout his tenure as the Deputy President and deserves support from all Kenyans to proceed with President Uhuru Kenyatta's good job," he said.
The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) parliamentarian vowed to lead the Deputy President's vote hunting mission in the Meru region, promising to deliver majority of the Ameru vote into his basket.
"I will be in the front line in drumming up support for him in Meru. I will ensure that the entire Meru community stands with him in 2022," he added.
Ruto who is keen on succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta is likely to vie for the post on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Also expected to be in the race is Machakos Governor and Maendeleo Chapchap party leader Alfred Mutua.
