Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has moved in to quell wrangling among the Luo Council of Elders.
Raila has summoned the two groups fighting over control of the council to Oyugis town for a meeting in Homa Bay County.
A source privy to the on goings hinted to this writer that that the former premier is not pleased with the happenings at the council after one groups announced the expulsion of Ker Willis Otondi.
“I can confirm that the two groups of elders will meet the former premier to iron out their issues tomorrow in Oyugis,” said the source who sought to remain anonymous.
Otondi was this week quoted in a section of the media announcing that the elders had settled on one leader who will replace Raila as the defector leader of Luo Nyanza.
The announcement angered a section of Luo elders who announced the expulsion of Otondi and named Oyuga Tado as his replacement in interim basis.
Raila has now summoned the two groups into a meeting to iron out the differences and come up with a resolution that will keep the elders intact.
Otondi had in the past replaced Riaga Ogallo who was accused of working behind Raila to discredit his leadership.
Ogallo then moved to court and challenged his removal.
