Former Kisumu West MP Gor Sunguh was once a very powerful legislator in the 9th Parliament as he played a leading role in the investigation of the murder of former Foreign Affairs Minister Robert Ouko.

Sunguh chaired the Parliamentary select committee in 2005 that probed the controversial murder of Dr. OukO who was killed in 1990.

At that time, he was wielding too much influence and was a key political figure not only in Nyanza but across the country.

His political journey, however, hit a bumpy stretch in 2007 when he was brought down by little-known Olago Aluoch and he has never recovered.

Sunguh, a longtime ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga, tried to make a comeback in 2017 but lost in the ODM nominations to Nicholas Oricho who would later lost to Olago.

Since then, nothing has been heard of the former powerful MP. He has maintained low political profile leaving many guessing on his next move.

Is he hanging his political boots? Only time will tell.
