Former President Daniel arap Moi is expected to meet Cord leader Raila Odinga in a convention that could change the country's political tide.
A Thursday statement seen by this writer said the meeting will take place at far-flung Teso North sub county in Busia on Saturday.
It has been planned to coincide with Mr Odinga's tour of Busia County.
Odinga will begin the tour in former ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba's home turf in Budalang'i on before flying to Paul Otwoma's Funyula constituency the same day.
He will then visit Teso South constituency before traveling to Teso North where he is expected to meet Mr Moi.
The former prime minster will wind up his tour at Nambale and Butula constituencies.
Teso North, where the two are scheduled to meet is one of the three constituencies in the former Western Province where Deputy President William Ruto's URP party managed to secure parliamentary seats although voters there overwhelmingly voted for Mr Odinga at presidential level in 2013.
Among other leaders expected to attend the event, according to the statement from Busia County's Communications Department are former President Mwai Kibaki, former Attorney General Charles Njonjo former Minister James Osogo and former Assistant Ministers J D Otiende and John Keen.
Others are Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and former Uganda Prime Minister Dr Paul Etyang'.
The leaders will be attending a thanks giving ceremony for former Amagoro MP Oduya Oprong' who, for the last 22 years, has lived with a bullet lodged in his head after being shot in 1994.
Oprong', 79, is among surviving former MPs who occupied Kenya's post independence Parliament between 1963 and 1969.
The ceremony will be held at the Anglican Church of Kenya St Stephen's Church Angurai.
