The 2013 general election presidential candidate James Ole Kiyiapi has hailed NASA leader Raila Odinga for his courage after being sworn in as the people's president in an event held at Uhuru Park on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.Raila made good his threat to take the oath after dialogue calls with President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee hit a snag.According to Prof Kiyiapi, though ‘no swearing in took place’, Raila proved that he is courageous enough to take the State head on. He also hailed the government for withdrawing the police from Uhuru Park, the venue of the ceremony."In reality, no swearing in has taken place, it's more of a political statement. The decision to withdraw police from Uhuru Park was in best public interest. It has ended as many peace-loving Kenyans had envisaged. We must give to Raila for courage,” Prof Kiyiapi said in a tweet on Tuesday.Raila was issued with a certificate immediately after taking the oath. However, his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka and NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula skipped the event. They, however, wrote a statement explaining the circumstances that led to their failure to attend the swearing-in fete.
