Former Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has given advice to President Uhuru Kenyatta over how he is supposed to form his new cabinet.
Speaking through a local daily on Tuesday, Aukot insisted that the new cabinet must reflect the true picture of Kenya and Kenyans.
He said the president's appointments should consider ethnic balance in leadership to avert feelings of disgruntlement from a section of Kenyans whose communities might be left out.
"I have always given President Uhuru and his team this free advice on the need to look at Constitution Article 130. In forming the national Executive, it should reflect regional and ethnic diversity," he said.
Aukot said that every tribe in Kenya can be given a role to play as either CS or PS in the government.
"We have a maximum 22 Cabinet slots. If I were Uhuru, I would pick the 22 CSs from the 22 tribes of Kenya. I would pick the next 22 PSs and another 22 from different tribes," he said.
"If Uhuru does that, he will shut up anybody who says his government is not all-inclusive. He should leave the county governments to run their affairs in their tribal way because there is nothing he can change," he said, adding that the Executive was a symbol of unity for all Kenyans.
