Former Cabinet Minister Simeon Nyachae is currently admitted at the Nairobi hospital after he complained of chest pains.
His son, Charles Nyachae who is currently serving as a judge at the East African Court of Justice confirmed the incident saying that his father has been unwell for three days now.
"He was complaining of chest pains and fell down while having a walk at home, that is when we rushed him to the hospital," said Mr Nyachae.
He also said that his father was out of danger but doctors decided to hold him at the facility as they carry more tests.
According to him, his father is scheduled to leave the hospital in the course of the week.
Hivisasa tried to contact the hospital where Mr Nyachae is currently being held but no information was given over his condition.
Mr Nyachae was an active politician who contested for the presidency in 2002 and retired from active politics in 2008.
