Kisii leaders have been challenged to keep their school on toes in order to help them improve in the education sector.
According to Former Principal Nyambaria Boys Robinson Otwori, some school get low grades simply because the leaders do not care about the quality of education offered.
Otwori, who was speaking to this writer on Tuesday at a Kisii Hotel he said that the performance of schools should be monitored by area leaders, whom he said need to ensure that all measures are in place.
“Some of our leaders are not taking any consideration about education in our schools, even some of them don’t know schools in their areas, they need to monitor these schools for better performances,” said Otwori
He went on to point that when Professor Sam Ongeri monitored performances of schools in his Nyaribari Masaba constituency, there was good performance in the schools.
“When Ongeri was the MP for Nyaribari Masaba, he used to keep the schools on toes, and there was tremendous change in the final examination since he used to do impromptu visits, we wish that the current leaders do the same in order to better our education,” added Otwori.
He also challenged teachers and principals to make sure that they don’t have wasted grades in their schools.
